Biggest budget loser? Voucher school expansion is expected to deal “severe blow” to schools

The proposed voucher expansion and its impact on the already struggling public K-12 education system in Wisconsin are among the most troubling aspects of Walker’s biennial budget, says Jon Peacock, director of the Wisconsin Budget Project, an initiative of the Wisconsin Council on Children and Families. “[It’s] a severe blow to public education,” Peacock says. “It’s a huge shift that will have consequences for decades to come, gradually eroding the quality of our public schools.”
